Requirements prior to employment:
1. All employees who are 18 years of age and older are required to submit finger prints to local and federal repositories for background checks prior to start date. APPLICANT COST: $8 for one finger print cards payable to Carson City Sheriff’s Dept.
2) federal background check APPLICANT COST: $36.25
3) TB skin test clearance EMPLOYEE COST: $25

Requirements for the duration of employment:
1. Employees must take CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, Infectious Disease and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect within the first 90 days of employment. The cost of this training may be incurred in whole or in part by the CDC.
2. Employees must also take 24 hours of Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related subjects every licensing year of employment. The CDC will assist student employees in the process of acquiring this annual training.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

ECE degree/classes and/or experience in child care desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Organizing activities with the children in accordance with the curriculum as prepared by the Head Teacher
2. Prepare materials for the Teacher for planned activities
3. Diapering and potty training as necessary
4. Aide Teacher in cleaning classroom
5. Other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to: a) Cleaning up CDC kitchen and b) Organizing CDC kitchen and supplies

Employment is contingent on the completion of appropriate background verification, which may include criminal history, credit history, sex and violent offender registry, education verification licensure and employment history to be administered by the Western Nevada College Human Resources office.
