Minimum Qualifications and Experience

1. Associate’s degree or one year of related job experience.

2. Knowledge of the ADA/ADAAA preferred.

3. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

Academic Coach (AC) will mentor, guide, and support students enrolled in the summer camp program for transition students; AC will be held responsible for enforcing program policies and procedures; AC is required to attend all CREST meetings and training; AC will collaborate with the instructor to support EPY 150 class; AC is required to stay in contact with the DSS Coordinator and instructor by phone and WNC email; AC is to call/text students to make sure they are ready to start classes in the Fall; AC will offer support and answer questions the students may have about the semester; AC is to meet bi-weekly with DSS Coordinator during the semester; AC will provide support to students outside of class in the form of study groups, weekly workshops (topics related to EPY course content) assist with time management, offer suggestions for self-advocacy, etc.; AC is to share any relevant feedback from students with DSS Coordinator about how the class/assignments are progressing; AC will set up days/times to meet with students outside the classroom for mentoring sessions. Employee will be required to assist with transporting participants to employers in our local area.
